Hiro Akai (赤井ヒロ Akai Hiro) is Gachi Red.

As Gachi Red
Despite being the leader, Hiro is ditzy and airheaded. However, he is also quick-tempered, full of energy and has a passion for justice. He always says the word "Gachi" at the end of each sentence. When he transforms into Gachi Red, his weapon is a brass knuckle with spikes.

Anime[]
Hiro appears in Episode 1 of the second season. After the Gachi Rangers discover that the evil Gedol Empire try to eliminate children from the Saitama District and that they are turning everyone into a pile of bubbles, they decide to stop it. The Gachi Yellow and Gachi Red go to save some children, with Hiro in the co-pilot seat because of his suspended license. When they arrive they have to diffuse a bomb. The two start arguing over which wire to cut and Red ends up choosing the red wire (because it is his favorite color). This causes the bomb to explode right in their faces, apparently killing all the children in the process. Later, he joined the other Gachi Rangers helped them fight Crabron, culminating in a giant robot vs. monster duel. Upon defeating him, all the children return back to normal.

- Hiro's surname Akai means "red" (赤) (aka) and "well, mine shaft, pit" (井) (i).
